Author Candice Millard will be the featured speaker at the Olathe Public Library Foundation's 'A Taste of Literacy' dinner. She is the author of four New York Times bestselling books, The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey, Destiny of the Republic, Hero of the Empire, and River of the Gods: Genius, Courage and Betrayal in the Search for the Source of the Nile. She lives in Kansas City with her husband and three children. She will speak about her work followed by a time for Q&A.

A social hour with cash bar will begin at 5:30 pm followed by dinner at 6:30 pm and the author presentation at 7:00 pm. The Olathe North High School Culinary Arts Program will cater the meal.
