Container gardening is one of the fastest, most gratifying, and versatile kinds of gardening. Most anything that can be grown in the ground can be grown in containers. You'll learn must-dos and don’ts of container gardening that will help you put together a creation that goes beyond “Red Geraniums and Spikes." This program will be presented by Mae Christenson.
Mae has been a Johnson County Extension Master Gardener since 1997. Gardening has provided her with opportunities to appreciate the wonders of nature and learn that we cannot outsmart “Mother Nature”. Over the years, she has adapted to growing with the flow, syncing the gardener’s energy, the microclimate, and the plants to have a garden that thrives without a lot of fuss. Gardeners can really make a difference by bringing solutions to many of the environmental issues we face today such as solid waste management, protecting the waterways, and extinction of beneficial insects and songbirds. To Mae, container gardening provides instant gratification and is a fun way to play in the garden.
