Award-winning Nashville recording guitarist Charles David Smart and symphony violinist, vocalist and ordained minister Michelle Gawith share fun and dynamic energy – world class musicians with very different backgrounds coming together for the sheer joy of music and sharing it with others.

About the band: David’s musical career launched when he began touring with internationally recognized musicians, performing in major arenas throughout the USA, Canada and Europe making music with internationally renowned artists including: contemporary Christian artists and GMA Dove Award recipients Phillips, Craig and Dean; First Call; NewSong; and Larnell Harris; Country Music Hall of Fame member Roy Clark; and jazz legends Pat Metheny and Clark Terry. David stays open to musical growth and enjoys a wide range of performance opportunities in pop, jazz, country, classical, and sacred music. After teaching guitar for almost 20 years at MidAmerica Nazarene University, he now teaches privately and with Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Michelle has enjoyed the privilege of studying with renowned performers and pedagogues, including: Joseph Gingold, Isaac Stern, Pinchas Zukerman, and Emanuel Borok (Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony), all before graduating from high school. During that time, she also performed in orchestras, chamber groups, and as soloist with orchestras throughout the Mid-America region. In addition to her involvement with The Pic and Bow, Michelle teaches privately and performs regularly with the St. Joseph and Wichita Symphonies. She is also an experienced worship leader serving as a minister and Registered Song Evangelist with the Church of the
Nazarene.
