Have you ever wanted to learn to crochet? Want to learn to make garments, accessories, afghans, stuffed animals, and so much more? Join us as we learn the absolute basics of crochet. 

Meet with other writers to discuss your writing, share friendly feedback, and find encouragement to power through your writing goals, big or small.

Olathe Community Center instructors lead a passive practice in which poses are held for a few minutes at a time. This practice focuses on deep stretching and restorative poses to improve mental clarity and offer deep relaxation.

Color your world by tie-dying a bucket hat and socks for your summer adventures! After a demonstration, take your dyed materials home in a plastic bag to soak for several hours, then wash and wear. 

Create a canvas with your own fantastical landscapes using magazines, newspapers, and books, no artistic skill necessary! Participants will learn a variety of techniques and mediums to make their own paper collage.

Attention LEGO® enthusiasts!  Make something awesome using your own LEGO® (or compatible) bricks and enter your creation into our 13^th annual LEGO® Design Contest.  There will be a special contest category just for adults

Join us as we discuss a true crime book and snack on delicious cookies. Participants will receive a free copy of the book upon registration.

Bring your instrument and jam with us, share a song, or just listen. Expect fiddles, guitars, folk, blues, and bluegrass, led by multi-instrumentalist Richelle Basgall.

If you love trading card games, this is the place for you! Use our card mats and starter decks to learn the ropes. Already an expert? Feel free to bring your own cards and materials and play for fun.

Olathe Community Center instructors lead a gentle yoga practice from the comfort of a chair. Poses are great for those with limited mobility, or anyone looking for a low-impact way to re-center during a busy day.

Bring your own personal sewing projects to work on while socializing with others! Machine sewing, hand sewing, cross stitch, and embroidery are all welcome! Bring your own machine or use one of ours available as first come, first served.

Enjoy an adults-only night out at the library! We will show a movie and provide popcorn. 

June 2: Knives Out

Join us to play a variety of tabletop games, with snacks and drinks provided. Bring friends and play together or make new friends while you play. You're welcome to bring your own games, or use those provided from MNU's Mabee Library. 

Read and discuss a book from a different genre each month. Participants will receive a free copy of the book upon registration.

Learn the foundations of color theory, from how our eyes perceive light to building your own palettes. Class will include color mixing tutorial and painting of swatches. 

Do you crochet, knit, cross stich, or embroider? Bring your own needle arts project to this informal craft and chat, where you can work on your latest project and visit with other crafters. Stay the whole time or just drop in for a little while.

Bring all your gamer friends for after-hours adult time in the Zone.  

Gaming systems include: PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X.
